Hi,
I would like to see a temperature log and if possible more historic heating info. Where can I get insight in this info. I see the takeout does not offer you a temperature log anymore.

you seemingly cant, its rubbish.

I've also filled in the form as well, since I was the person posting the question.

i got a reply which was less than useless. Thats why i dont bother "filling out the feedback forms" because its just pointless to do so, just all AI with no answers to the questions but simply a redirect to information that doesnt help,
I can confirm 100% that there is no way to output the data to get a history of temperatures, absolutely no way. SmartThings shows a running record of actual temps so thats something to maybe look into and see if there is a way to export it in such a way that might be useful.
If i wanted to know the temperature of my house at 1pm, tell me how i can find that out Google... you have that data, but you just wont let your customers access it.

I haven't even gotten a reply haha.
This actually in my opinion is a very big flaw, but I was thinking what if I implement the thermostat into HA using the API. Maybe then I will be able to create the log using the HA log.

you can almost certainly get the info if you are running HA. Thats what i'll do eventually and just give up on Google Home as it just doesnt do what i need. That is basic stuff...

People want to see graphs of their nest showing more than the ten days you are restricted to in the app. People want to see use by heat source. There's post after post asking for this. The only solution ever offered is Google Takeout, which seems to always fail for Nest Thermostat.

And also google takout now doesn't offer the temp log and event log anymore, it's just plain useless coming home and leaving home info....

done.

wow, thats really helpful Rusell, well done.

Is this a yes, or just a polite refusal? It seems to me such a graph would be an effort of only a few minutes? If I download the data, that is what it takes.
12-09-2024 01:54 AM
But you aren't able to download it now right?
12-09-2024 03:47 AM
nope.
Its even more stupid when you think that people who work full time designing these products didnt think that people would want or need that information. They obviously dont use these products themselves. Would take minutes to create a graph based on the data that the Nests DO ACTUALLY RECORD but then just dont let you access.
12-09-2024 05:25 AM
Well, as it is my data shouldn't I legally be able to acces it?
12-09-2024 05:48 AM
THE DOWNLOADING TAKES SONE 18 CLICKS AND 20 MINUTES EACH TIME.
12-10-2024 11:45 PM
Where do you download though? I cannot find the data in the takeout export
12-11-2024 04:17 AM
ive never been able to extract any useful information on Nest from the takeout.
