Temperature reading.

It will be cold in the house. So I will check the thermostat, it will read 74 indoor(but it is not) so I will increase the desired temperature to from 71 to 75, then the indoor will go down to the real temperature inside of 68 within 2 minutes. So I decrease temp back to desired temp of 71. How to do I get it to read true so the house doesn’t get cold.

Hi there!

Thanks for posting here in the community. I'm sorry to hear your Nest Thermostat is providing an inaccurate indoor temperature reading. I'm happy to help!

To better understand the situation, I'd like to ask a few questions:

  • What type of Nest thermostat do you have?
  • When was the Nest thermostat installed?
  • When did the inconvenience start?
  • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?
  • What is the model of the HVAC/heat pump system?
  • Any recent power outages or power issues?

In the meantime, let's check this tip:

  • WiFi Connection: Disconnect the Nest Thermostat from the WiFi router for 24 hours. This can solve some glitches.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Melany
