Cannot get control of second nest thermostat on nest app on android phone

I have two thermostats.  One in my home and one in my cabin.  The one in the cabin shows up in the Nest app as it should and I can control it.  The one for my home shows as a Home in a green circle with the words under it  AWAY and California and temperature changing from one to the other and back.  I have no control over this one.

Try rebooting the malfunctioning thermostat.

Hi coinoprus,

Thanks for posting. I understand that your Nest thermostat is set in Away and is changing the temperature. Don't worry, I can help. In this case, let me explain. On your app, you can choose whether or not your Google Nest thermostat will switch to Eco Temperatures when your home is set to Away.

Tap the switch near the top of the menu to enable or disable this option.

The “How It Responds” section tells you what happens when your home is in each mode:

  • Home - On means your thermostat will use your regular schedule whenever anybody’s home.
  • Away: Eco temperature means your thermostat will switch itself to Eco temperature when no one’s home.

You can tap Eco Temperatures at the bottom of the menu if you want to change the Eco Temperatures that your thermostat will try to maintain when you’re gone.

To change how home/away assist controls your Nest products, follow these steps.

  1. Open the Nest app.
  2. Tap Settings on the home screen.
  3. Select Home/Away Assistance.
  4. Tap either the Home or Away icon at the top of the screen. You’ll find a summary of what each of your Nest products will do when your home is in that mode.
  5. If you want to make any changes, tap on the Nest product you’d like to control.

Please let me know how that goes. I'll be waiting for your response.

Best regards,

Jenny
