Temperature sensor with 4th gen learning thermostat

The 4th gen learning thermostat seems to only have the option to select the temperature sensor. With the older learning thermostat I had the option of automatically selecting the sensor morning midday or night. Is this no longer possible? Can we only now select the sensor or not select the sensor??

Hello @mail4vaughn

Thanks for reaching out to our Nest Community. I apologize for all the inconvenience of controlling your Nest Sensor. Don't worry; I'm happy to assist you with this situation.

To answer your question you can add your sensor to one schedule to tell you when you need the Nest Sensor to work.

To do that you can follow the next steps:

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Tap Favorites or Devices.
  3. Tap your thermostat and then Schedules.
  4. Tap the event you want to use a Temperature Sensor for.
  5. In the Using Sensor section, select the sensor the thermostat should use.
  6. Tap Save.

You can learn more about this feature here: Change Nest Temperature Sensor settings.

Keep us posted in case you have more questions; I'm happy to help you.

Best regards,

Douglas.
