Google Nest showing higher ambient temperature

Mirimiri

Hello,

I am writing to you today to express my dissatisfaction with the recently installed 3rd generation Learning thermostat in my London, UK home. The device is consistently displaying an ambient temperature that is 2-3 degrees Celsius higher than the actual temperature, as verified by a separate temperature and humidity reader.

The thermostat was installed on the wall in the same location as the previous thermostat, and I have ensured that there are no obstructions or sources of heat that could be affecting the temperature reading.

I am frustrated that I have paid a significant amount of money for a device that is not functioning properly, and I would appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue as soon as possible.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Just to clarify, this is a community forum for help, NOT Google customer services! The more important issue to your problem is, who supplied and installed the thermostat? Not a name but, retailer, installer etc.?

Hi! Thank you for clarification. It was installed by a gas safe engineer.

Did they supply the thermostat?

Have you tried a restart of the display at all?

No, we bought it from B&Q retailer.

Hi Mirimiri,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that your Google Nest Thermostat 3rd Gen isn't displaying the correct temperature, which can be frustrating. Don't worry, I'm here to help!

  1. Where did you install your thermostat?" (in a room and on a wall or stand)
  2. Do you have other active Nest thermostats?"If yes: "Do they show the same issue?
  3. Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?
  4. What is the brand/model of the HVAC/heat pump?
  5. Any recent power outages or power issues?

I will be awaiting your response.

Regards,

Manuel
