Our thermostat is not reading the outside temperature correctly and i believe its making it not work correctly. Our house is way hotter than it should be with the AC on.

@Greenmuffy The Nest Learning Thermostat uses your home zip code to look up the ambient temperature in your area.  This data is used to calculate the time to reach the desired temperature set point.  It does not modify the operation of your HVAC system.

If you set a desired temperature that is 1°F lower than the indoor ambient temperature, the Nest Thermostat  will activate the Y/Y1 and G wires to turn the Air conditioning system on.

If your air conditioner is not cooling your house properly, this is probably a problem with the system and make sure that your air conditioning return filter is clean and new to have proper airflow.

when the air conditioner comes on, do you feel cold air coming out of the vents? If you do not feel cold air coming out of the vents, you need to call the service repair man to come inspect your system to see if you might be low on refrigerant or you have a dirty coil.
