I can only set intervals of 30 minutes.
My hot water tank only needs 45 minutes to heat to max temperature but my nest only allows me to set either 30 mins or 1 hour so have to set 1 hour.. Why on earth is there not more control on this thermostat. It's should be in 5 minutes increments..

Hello ipman,
Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry. We'd be happy to take a look at this for you.
This usually depends on how efficient your system is, but I do understand that your system could only take 45 minutes to heat up. To confirm, from what country are you posting? Which Nest Thermostat do you have? Also, when did you install your Nest Thermostat, and how long have you been using it?
I'll look forward to your response.
Regards,
Mark

I am from the UK. I have experience in hot water storage systems and recently moved from hive to nest. I am dissatisfied as hive allowed 45 minutes. Nest will. Not... I have 2 150l gledhill unvented cylinders. I only require the boiler on for 45 minutes per day but as stated 1 hour has to be set so between 45mins to 1hour my boiler is cycling. I have the newest version of the nest thermostat. Surely a simple firmware update can fix this issue.... I have seen many people complain about this same problem online for at least 1 year.

I'm so sorry for any inconvenience caused by this. At the moment the thermostat it's designed in such a way to prevent short cycling. But thank you for the feedback!
