Thermostat 3rd gen dead

Hi follow up to previous issue. I think another member replied and my original thread was closed.

So will post again along with answers to your questions previously

Hi,

Heat link appears to be dead. Getting h71 error on thermostat, have no lights on heat link. But checking mains voltage, there is still mains power to the device and when trying the mini usb connection diagnostic, the lights all come on. Any advice?

This means we have no hot water or heating. Assuming a new heat link is required, a quick bit of research says this is likely a common issue??

Since this issue I had to buy a wired heatlink equivalent from Drayton for £100 odd, and now we have water and heating again.

So this should confirm that there is no issues with the boiler, the breakers, the electrical supply or any other issue bar the heatlink failing. Going by the forum this seems a common issue, it's still within it Warranty as it was bought and installed in December 2020. However I am at a point where unless I can guarantee that a new heatlink isn't going to have the same issue again in 12 month I think will be looking at other options.

I will go back to my original topic to answer other questions asked.

How many thermostats do you have? 1

As I say I have had to replace with a Drayton wired thermastat with programming so we could actually get heating and hot water as there was no other way to get it, no helpful with a 6 month old.

the Drayton works and so again this would indicate the heat link is goosed.

Follow up to questions asked in last thread.

I'm sorry to hear about your issue, but I'd like to help you out. I'll have a few questions for you first:

Also, if you have not already, make sure to double check all breakers and switches to make sure nothing has tripped. Also check the boiler as it can have a separate isolation switch sometimes. Confirm the boiler has power, it should have a LED or display that turns on.

If it all looks good try and power cycle the Heat Link, if you're comfortable in doing so. Turn the power off to the Heat Link for a few minutes and then turn it back on. See if it has any reaction when you press the button on it after.

as I say I have had to place a  programmable heat link in its place and now we have hot water and heating again, so know it's nothing to do with the boiler, breakers, electrical supply etc. It can only be the heatlink.

Thank you

THank you for all the information @Thermostatties . I would be happy to try and assist.

I am happy to hear you already got to check the power and confirmed everything is ok with the system using another unit.

Should you wish we can check a few things and perhaps set up a replacement for your old unit. Do you still have it at the location?
