Hi, we have dry loop DSL Internet at our home, with Speed Reduced to 2.5 MBPS while we are away. After power failure and restart , none of our Google Devices - Nest Learning Therm, Google Minis, Google Chromecast stay offline after power recycle. Only our EUFY Security cameras return to ONLINE status. we are away so we are not able to reset Google devices. No issues with EUFY cameras. Anybody no why ?  Thx

Hi judef1,

Uh-oh! I'm sorry to hear that your Google devices, such as the Nest Learning Thermostat, Google Minis, and Google Chromecast, don't come back online after a power failure and restart while your EUFY Security cameras do. Google devices may struggle to reconnect after a power cycle due to unstable Wi-Fi connections. EUFY Security cameras may have stronger Wi-Fi signals or better connectivity in their specific locations, enabling successful reconnections. When routers restart after a power failure, new IP addresses may be assigned to connected devices, which may affect their ability to renew their DHCP lease and establish a new connection. Firmware or software issues specific to Google devices may also cause difficulties in reconnecting after a power cycle. So, checking for firmware updates can help. Each device has unique hardware and software characteristics, and EUFY Security cameras may be designed or programmed differently, allowing them to recover and reconnect more effectively.

Take note that you need to be in the location where the Google device are to troubleshoot. If possible, review the Wi-Fi signal strength in the areas where the Google devices are located. The signal strength has a maximum value of 100. A signal strength of 75 is considered strong, while a value of 36 or lower is considered weak. Consider using Wi-Fi range extenders or relocating the devices closer to the router to improve their connectivity.

Let us know if that helps.

Best,

Zoe
