I will have my nest thermostat set to 75 then 2 hours later it changes to 89.  Why is this happening and what do I need to do to change it?

Because nest is a ***. It won’t let me adjust my temperature during peak times and then it tells me my AC is broken because it got warmer when the AC was on. Google Nest is awful!

Hi folks!

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear about your experience with your Nest Thermostat, especially since the temperature keeps changing. I understand how difficult it must be when your device is not working as expected. I appreciate your efforts in taking those steps before. I'm happy to help you!

To help me find the best solution, I'll need to ask you a few questions:

  • Could you provide the specific Nest Thermostat model you have? Here's an article that might help you check: How to tell which Nest thermostat you have
  • Could you check if you have a schedule set on your thermostat? You can verify this information using the attached article: Nest thermostat temperature schedules.
  • How frequently does this happen (e.g., daily, a few times a week)? Is there any pattern to when it happens (e.g., at specific times of day, after you leave the house, or overnight)?
  • Do you have any energy-saving or smart home rewards programs active on your thermostat, such as "Rush Hour" or "Nest Renew"?

Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your responses.

Best regards,
Geremi
