Periodically, usually every 1-3 days the app and thermostat will say it’s heating and will reach temp in X amount of time, but it never actually kicks the heat on. Like it will say it will be at 71 degrees in 2 hours and then 4 hours later our temperature is steady dropping and the heat still hasn’t kicked on. Sometimes turning it to mode off and then back to mode heat works, but not consistently.
This has been happening for several weeks now and I don’t know what to do as I have 3 small children and a baby due soon as well as pets. We can’t just keep having our house end up freezing cold. From what I saw on other threads it’s a Nest thermostat issue. We just got a new heater two years ago so I know it’s not that.

I had this same exact issue. I tried all of the things I've read on these forums and nothing worked. So today I replaced it with the original thermostat and everything is working fine. Thank God I be removed the nest because we're getting hit with this winter weather tonight (17f) and we live in southeast Virginia.

I filled it out. It’s been happening more and more frequently though and with three kids it’s not great that I don’t have a reliable thermostat

No. I've removed there nest thermostat and went back to my old trane thermostat. The nest caused my power bill to be 3 times higher than normal this time of year and I can't afford to keep it installed.
