Since installing my Nest thermostat, it has been heating far beyond the set target temperature. This has happened a hand full of times now and I have had HVAC at my home. I have to manually shut power off to my furnace to get the heating to stop even after shutting thermostat off. My target temperature in Wisconsin is set to 68, my thermostat has heated the house to 85 once while asleep. How do I get this to stop? If it continues I may ditch my Nest.

Hi Karissaeileen,
Uh-oh! I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your Nest Thermostat overheating your home. It can be frustrating when your thermostat doesn't function as expected.
Double-check your thermostat settings to ensure that the target temperature is set correctly to 68 degrees Fahrenheit. Make sure there are no scheduling conflicts or other settings that could be causing the thermostat to raise the temperature unexpectedly, and ensure that the temperature sensors on your Nest Thermostat are not obstructed by any objects or affected by external heat sources. They should be able to accurately measure the temperature of the room.
Let us know how it goes.
Best,
Zoe

Pretty sure that it’s an unresolved issue within the nest thermostat. I’ve done everything I can think of to trouble shoot and my furnace has been inspected. About to change it out next time it happens. Disappointing
