I have the Nest Learning Thermostat 3 and I got a Low battery issue. As part of the troubleshooting process, I remove it from the Nest app and reset it. Eventually, I learned how to charge the battery, and I added the thermostat back to the app.
Now a year of history, which was very valuable, is lost I can only see the data after the reset.
Asking why a change in the thermostat affects the data already collected. If I change the thermostat for any other reason I also lose the data? The historic data is not available even in Take-Out.

I lost all my history too. Google stores so much data, it is interesting that this isn't one of them.

Same! Why make that a troubleshooting option without mentioning you’re gonna lose one of the top reasons you have the thing…. I lost 2 years of history. My only problem was that the Home App stopped recognizing my device. I tried literally everything and it refused to keep connection.. I’m incredibly frustrated
