The thermostat has a tiny red blinking light. I think it needs a new battery. How do I replace the battery?

My Nest E has a USB jack on the back. Pull it off wall and plug into charger for a couple of hours. Holds for a year.

Hi folks,
Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for the delay. A few questions: what type of Nest Thermostat do you have? You can visit this link to check what type of thermostat you have. Also, do you notice any low battery messages on your thermostat?
If you have the Nest Learning Thermostat or Nest Thermostat E, you just have to charge it using a micro USB cable. Just remove your thermostat display from its base, then check the back of it. You'll see there is a little port that you can use to plug the charger.
If you have the Nest Thermostat 2020, just remove the thermostat display from its base and remove the batteries on it. You can use any triple alkaline batteries.
I appreciate your help, @Dickspicks.
Best,
Jenelyn
