My Nest App no longer shows my Thermostats and asks me to sign in to Nest & migrate to google

Trying to migrate my Nest account to Google but it says sign into Nest on my app and says a verification code will be sent to my email address but never comes - pop ups etc allowed, not blocked. Do I have to reset my thermostats to factory settings & and then add to google home?

Is it possible the verification code landed in your spam or junk folders? If after multiple attempts you still don't receive the verification code, and you just want to get your thermostats setup again, if you originally setup the thermostats in the Nest app, you need to reset them physically on the thermostat and use the Nest app to set them up again. Once setup again, they'll appear in the Home app as long as you sign in with the same Google account.

  1. Create a Google account and sign into the Nest app with it.
  2. Factory reset your thermostats.
  3. Setup your thermostats again, the same as you did the first time.

Hi Edmond - thanks for checking in. Yes, all good - I found a you tube video online the same day I posted that took me through the steps of resetting my thermostats to factory settings and then re-adding them. Crazy process, be great if Google/Nest had this listed step by step on the website.

Best,

Bonnie
