Thermostat is on-line, Google App is off-line

Hoping someone can help me resolve a Nest problem. I have had a Nest Thermostat, generation 3,  installed for a few years and it has always communicated well with my phones Google App. Recently it stopped communicating with the phone App. The thermostat says it is on line, but the phone app says it is off-line. I have tried rebooting the router, and I have tried resetting the thermostat, but neither worked. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Lkcpa,

Thanks for posting in the community. I understand you're having trouble with your Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd gen) not communicating with the app, even though the Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd gen) itself indicates it's online. Thank you for the effort to troubleshoot your Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd gen) by resetting it and rebooting the router.

To better assist you, I'd like to ask a few questions:

  • Are you using the Google Home app or the Nest app?
  • Have you tried deleting the Google Home or Nest app and reinstalling it?
  • Has there been any recent change in the home Wi-Fi network?

I’ll be waiting for your reply.

Best regards,

Derick.
