Thermostat keeps adjusting temperature

ghb438

I do not want the thermostat to automatically adjust the temperature. Every evening the thermostat will drop the heat to 64 degrees. I have set the thermostat to:

Eco temperatures are OFF

Home/Away Assist OFF

Auto-Schedule OFF

What more do I need to do?

Hi ghb438,

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Thermostat is automatically adjusting the temperature. Are you located in North America or Europe? What type of Nest Thermostat do you have? Ttry following these:

  1. Disable Eco temperatures of the Nest Thermostat.
    • For Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E:
      • Press your thermostat ring to open the Quick View menu.
      • Select Settings > Eco.
      • Select the“Heat to" and “Cool to" temperatures.
      • Press the thermostat ring to select the temperatures. Turn the ring to set these off.
    • For Nest Thermostat 2020:
      • Open the Google Home app.
      • Tap Favorites or Devices.
      • Touch and hold your thermostat's tile.
      • Tap Settings.
      • Select the day of the week you want, then tap Eco.
      • Tap the minus sign next to the temperature to adjust and turn it off.
      • Tap Save.
  2. To prevent automatic temperature changes, disable Home/Away Assist in the Nest app and Auto-Schedule, which learns your temperature preferences over time. If you have disabled Auto-Schedule, the thermostat should no longer adjust based on learned patterns.
  3. Double-check that there are no active schedule settings conflicting with your desired temperature, and review and modify the settings in the app or thermostat.
    • For Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E:
      • Tap the day of the week that has the temperature you’d like to remove.
      • Tap Remove.
      • Tap the setpoint you want to remove from your schedule.
    • For Nest Thermostat 2020:
      • Open the Google Home app.
      • Select your thermostat.
      • Tap Schedules.
      • Tap the day of the week that has the temperature you'd like to remove.
      • Select the temperature you want to remove.
      • Tap Delete. The temperature will be removed from the schedule for that day.
  4. With all automatic features disabled, you can manually set the temperature and keep it constant. Use the Nest app or physical controls on the thermostat to set the desired temperature, and it should remain at that level until you manually adjust it again.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Zoe
