Hi MarahD,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for the delay. I'd like to know more about it. Could you please provide your Nest Learning Thermostat power readout? Check your thermostat wiring diagram. Also, ensure that the wires are properly stripped and seated in the thermostat base.

You can follow these guides:

Thermostat power readings:

  1. Go to your thermostat Quick View menu.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Look for Technical Info.
  4. Select Power.

Thermostat wiring diagram:

  1. Go to your thermostat Quick View menu.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Look for Equipment.

Check your thermostat wires:

  1. Turn off the power to the HVAC system.
  2. Remove the thermostat display.
  3. Take a photo of the current wire setup.
  4. Remove the wires from the connectors and straighten the wires.
  5. Strip the wires to expose ⅓ inch to ½ inch of copper.
  6. Reseat the wires into the connectors and use the photo of the wire setup as a guide.
  7. Reinstall the thermostat display and make sure it clicks into place.
  8. Turn the power back on.

Best,

Jenelyn
