I started to notice a couple of months ago that the house felt cooler than usual but the thermostat was indicating the temperature I normally set for comfort. I then took a thermometer and put beside the thermostat and it was marking 2 degrees lower than the thermostat. I read many articles that tell to check for the placement of the thermostat, check the target temperature setting and all that good stuff, but none explain my problem. I suspect that the thermostat lost calibration but I found no help about how to calibrate it and I am thinking it isn’t possible, in which case the thermostat will be damaged for good. I noticed many people reported similar problem, but I found no convincing answer from Nest so far. Here I am trying it myself to ask for assistance in the hope that support has evolved in the last few months? Anyone has figured out how to solve this problem?

I can’t offer any advice but I’m having the same problem after getting a replacement thermostat from Google a few weeks ago. Im going to restore to factory settings and if it doesn’t fix the issue then I will be requesting another replacement 😔

Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out. I'd love to know more about it. Could you please take a photo of your Nest Thermostat beside your thermometer showing its temperature readouts? Also, check the Signal Strength of your network by going to Settings then look for Technical Info then Network.
I'll look forward to your response.
Best,
Jenelyn
