This a new house with existing Nest. I already took it to factory reset and then programmed it. All seems to work except the Nest app. To set up in app, I try existing, or new (then photo the bar code) but whatever I do, it wants the entry key which is nowhere in the thermostat settings menu or anywhere else. What can I try? I am not anonymous, I am Formerly47Karen.

Hi Formerly47Karen,
Could you factory reset your Nest Thermostat? Check this link for more details. After that, try to set it up again. Wait for the Nest Thermostat's display to prompt you to continue the setup on the app before using the actual app.

Hi Edward -- Yes, I believe my thermostat is now connected to my app. Factory reset of just that setting had to be repeated multiple times, but it worked. Thanks, all.
