Thermostat says it has changed to "home" because of touch control

I live alone, and nobody else has been in my home, yet 5 minutes after I set the thermostat to "away" it changes back to "home" because apparently it was touch controlled.

Can anyone suggest why this happens, and how I can stop it from happening again in the future please?

+1 I’m constantly dealing with this issue. It’s definitely not helping with my home’s efficiency. I didn’t have this issue over the winter.

• Could you please tell us the type of Nest Thermostat you have?
• Are you using the Nest app or the Google Home app?
• Does it switch automatically into the Home or Away state?
• Are any of your home members contributing to the Nest Thermostat access in the app?
• What's the make and model of the phone used for the setup.
• Could you please give a rundown of all the steps you've tried?

It says display model 3.7

we both have the nest and the google home app on our iphones

we have new phones from when we set it up but always an iPhone we have iPhone 13 pros now

it is setup to do the home and away off of our phones but when we are having the issue my husband will leave home and it says manually away set and then anywhere between 5mins to 30 mins it will say home rountine started touch control 

I am not sure what steps we should try I know my husband has reset it and has reset our router as well 

the nest app just shows home and away from our phones but the google app is the one that shows the home routine started touch control after my husband has manually changed it to away when he leaves then no one is home and it will change to home touch control 

I looked at it now and it says home routine started touch control first person arrived home when no one is here it is an issue because it’s making our bill higher when no one is here but also how is touch control being triggered if no one is in the house

For Example today my husband left at 1:45 and it went into the Away Routine, It went back on to Home at 1:50 because he ran back in the house. But it didn't go back into away mode when he left again. So at 2:22pm I changed it from the Nest App to Away. Then at 2:28pm the google home app says the first person arrived home Touch control and then says home routine started. No one is home right now why does it keep doing this!

I’m having this same issue. We were on vacation. No location (phone/tablet) devices in the home at the time.  My Google Nest Hub and Google Nest Hub Max reported they were touch controlled once around 2am on Saturday and the other around 4am on Sunday and one this morning around 3am when we were all sleeping.  Is this lab public preview glitch?
