Thermostat schedule

We have our thermostat set on a schedule to come on for a couple of hours each morning (from 6:30/7am). I woke up around 3am last night and realised the heating was on. I checked the usage history and it seems it has been coming on in the night since we turned it back on at the beginning of this week. We have not set it to do this, so can anyone explain why this is happening? I had to do a factory reset when we turned the heating on as the app had lost connection with my thermostat.

Hello collectbread,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. It could be that the auto learning feature of your Nest Thermostat is turned on. We would recommend you to disable it so that it will only follow your set schedule.

Give these steps a try:

When you turn off Auto-Schedule, your existing schedule will remain but your thermostat will stop learning from your future adjustments.

Google Home app:

  1. Open your Google Home app.
  2. Tap Favorites> or Devices.
  3. Select your Nest Thermostat.
  4. Tap Settings> Temperature Preferences> Auto Schedule. Then select the mode you want to use: Auto, Suggestions, or Off.

Nest app:

  1. Open the Nest app, then select your Nest Thermostat.
  2. Select Settings>  Auto-Schedule.
  3. Tap the switch to turn it off.

On your Nest Thermostat:

Choose Settings> Nest Sense> Auto-Schedule> Off.

Looking forward to your response.

Regards,

Emerson
