Thermostat sensor schedule

Amow
Community Member

The temperature sensor schedule needs to be adjustable, my kid goes to bed before 9PM, so we need the heat to be changed to her room at 8PM.

I have seen numerous posts ranging back to 2021, it's time to implement this change

Hi Amow,

Thanks for posting. I understand that you want to set a schedule on your Nest Thermostat that includes your temperature sensor. Your thermostat will continue to follow its usual temperature schedule no matter which sensor is active. Your thermostat will always heat or cool to the scheduled temperature where the active sensor is.
You can tell which sensor is active by tapping your thermostat on the Nest app home screen. The active sensor will have a white dot next to it.
Please let me know if you have more questions.

Best regards,
Jenny

Jenny this is not what I meant.  The time frames explained by Rodders in the next comment is the issue.  It's not the temperature schedule, it's the time frames of morning, afternoon, evening, night.  They need to be adjustable, I'm not sure how this is still a thing that's not done, as I've seen many comments about this from years ago being an issue.  How has no one solved this yet?

I don't think that was what arrow meant.  The sensor schedule ie morning , evening etc needs to be adjustable.  I have the same problem. Google has defined morning as ending at 11 am but I  get up and move downstairs before that

Exactly, I don't get how this is not fixed, this issue has been going on for a long time now.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for posting. I understand that you want to adjust the time frames of morning, afternoon, evening, and night. In this case, this feature is not available, but we appreciate your feedback. We're constantly working on improvements, and your input helps us shape future features.
@Amow, the best option right now would be to set a schedule for when you want the thermostat to come on when you start and finish your day.
You can check the "Nest thermostat temperature schedules" article for more information.
Please let me know if you have more questions.

Best regards,
Jenny

I know that it's not available.  There are posts going back near 10 years for this issue.  Can I suggest that this be worked on asap, as it is a very annoying problem.  This is child related, not when I finish or start my day, it's about my kids.

Yeah I'm with everyone else. This makes the sensor almost useless. On days when my family wakes up early (6am) the downstairs is as cold as 16C, because Nest is using the upstairs sensor which is a lot warmer until 7am. It's a huge problem and I can't believe Google hasn't addressed it. Actually I can, because Google has neglected Nest ever since it acquired it.

Agreed.  I wonder if other thermostats have this function, does anyone know, I would gladly support a thermostat that had this function.
