Thermostat taking over

Tony17
Community Member

I have had the thermostat for a couple of years & it’s worked well until now.

Recently I lost control of the thermostat on my phone, although the app is obviously still connected as it is showing a current temp & a heat too temp but these temps are not taken from my schedule.

i have checked the settings & nothing has changed, it should be running my schedule but is heating to a much higher temp than I want

any ideas?

Hi Tony17,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you. Based on your description, the Nest thermostat on your phone doesn’t sync with the one you have on the wall. Let’s remove the Nest Thermostat from your app and pair it again with your Nest Thermostat on the wall to regain control. Follow the steps bellow:

  1. Sign in to the Nest app.
  2. If you have another home, on the app home screen, tap Menu . Then select the home that has the product you'd like to remove.
  3. On the app home screen, tap Settings Nest settings icon.
  4. Tap the product you'd like to remove.
  5. Scroll down and select Remove [product name].
  6. You'll then be asked to confirm your choice.
  7. Factory reset your Nest product.
  8. For the Nest Thermostat follow these steps: Go to Settings Nest settings icon and then select Restart  or Factory Reset
  9. For Nest learning Thermostat follow these steps: Go to Settings Nest settings icon and then Resetand thenAll settings.
  10.  Add the Nest Thermostat into your account.

Let us know if that helps.

Best,

Renz
