Talk to a real person?

I’m not able to connect the nest app to my thermostats because it says they were already connected to an account. Terrible that I’m just in a bunch of online loops with no way to resolve the issue. Why can’t there be a customer service option with a real person? I would never recommend nest to anyone. I see many people have the same problem and they go unresolved. Horrible.

I had the same problem today. After I had to change my home router password Nest thermostat dropped connection (yep, every other connected device worked fine but this) . I had to reinstall the thermostat as fresh install but, at the last step, it refused to connect, till i finally manually went into mine and wives Home & office phones, tablet/laptops, to delete it as a device from those 'google home' apps.

My problem is on the nest thermostats there’s no code to scan because of it having been registered previously with a non google email….and when I attempt to get the password for that email I never have the reset email sent. So much more convoluted.

Hello folks,

I know it has been a while, but I wanted to ensure that everything was covered here.

I completely understand your frustration with the Nest app and the challenges you've faced in reconnecting your thermostats. It can indeed be a frustrating experience when dealing with technical issues, especially when it seems like there's no straightforward solution. If you haven't already, you might want to consider reaching out to our team through our Contact Us Form

To address this issue, make sure that you are signing in with the correct email address associated with your Nest Thermostats. Seeing a message with "Already connected to an account" means that it has been set up already in the Nest app or in the Google Home app. Also, for issues with connecting the thermostat to a new Wi-Fi network, steps are available in the Change Nest Thermostat Wi-Fi Network article.

Let us know if you need more help.

Best regards,
Mark
