Hi, had a self learning nest installed a few days ago and the ambient (actual) temperature reading is very high (28°c) meaning I have to put the temperature past this for the heating to come on. I have reset the thermostat numerous times and then was reading into cold/hot wall issues. Whilst the thermostat is located in a good place and the wall is not hot or hold, I did notice the mount itself and the unit seem to be slightly warm. I believe this is giving a false reading on the room temperature. The unit is new so would be shocked if it was a battery failure or component.
Has anyone experienced this before?
I did remove it from the mount and used a power cable and the room temperature did drop and then increased again when attached to the wall mount.

I have had this issue before, but not with a new set. The reason for the ones I have seen are faulty chip which makes the display warm to touch. Having said that, have you left the thermostat to settle for a few hours?

Hi, yeah it has been left for a few days now. Really odd. Electrician who installed it doesnt have a clue either and theyve never had this issue on install either. Very odd!

I think the easy answer here is get the installer back to replace the set, as the unit is new. the installer is the responsible person in this issue, not Nest. Very strange why the installer did not replace if faulty the same time.
