My thermostat said it was offline on my phone and wouldn't reconnect. The thermostat and heatlink are working fine. I deleted the thermostat from the app and tried to add but it wanted a 7 digit passkey and the thermostat passkey is only 6. I updated the app and it allows me to enter a 6 digit passkey but the next screen says to press the relevant number shown but the screen is blank. Any ideas?

Google have prob decided to brick it and remove support for no reason. Seems this is something they are doing now.

Thats rubbish, its worked for over a decade and just stopped a few days ago. If thats what they've done I'll buy an alternative to replace it rather than waste my money with them. Sad.

Hi @Tee5,
Thank you very much for contacting this community! I understand that your thermostat was offline in the Nest app but that for some reason it's not reconnecting, even though you have confirmed that both the app and the device are working perfectly. I appreciate the time you took to verify the app and try to re-add it to the Nest app. I am here to help you!
Regarding what you have been experiencing, I would like to point out the information provided, @RiKx, which is that support for the Nest Learning Thermostat 1st and 2nd gen will no longer receive software updates or be supported in the Nest and Home apps starting October 25, 2025. For that reason, many devices are offline in the Nest app. You can verify more about this announcement in the following article: Support changes to our earliest generation Nest Learning Thermostats
However, to confirm if this is what affected your device, I would like to ask you a few questions:
Please feel free to share any additional details you think might be relevant.
Best regards,
Eduardo
