I live in an apartment in California and my Nest Learning 3 with my current air conditioner/ heat pump? cools very well (although doesn’t decrease the humidity at all compared to prior air conditioners in Arizona). I am trying to sign up for rush hour rewards and keep being told that my thermostat is in heating only mode. (Eligible for winter rush hour rewards only.) Called Nest who said since I have a heat pump, it will show up as heating only mode to electricity providers. Is this true and if not, is there a way to get my AC to show as cooling mode as well?
