Voltage at Setup - 2.87 volts

Hello,

I installed my nest thermostat yesterday and it updated without any issues, I shut off the display turn on during approach because it just was not necessary. I checked it at 9pm last night and all seemed fine.  This morning it showed that the Nest was offline for 6 hours overnight but then just after 830 this morning it showed online, working and with a voltage of 2.87 with OK as the battery status. It has been on 8.5 hours today with no interruptions... Is this normal? I did not charge the device prior to install so I am curious if it the voltage was truly 2.87, if 3.6 is the minimum... how did it perform the update and also, for about 15 seconds after placing the nest on the base it had an N260 error that flashed for maybe 5 seconds, disappeared and did not flash or show again. What is going on with this device? Your assistance is appreciated.

Hi Russellv,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your Nest Thermostat. I'd love to know more about this and I have a few questions:

  • What type of Nest Thermostat do you have?
  • How is your Nest Thermostat wired?
  • What is the power reading of your Nest Thermostat? You can find this by going to Settings > Technical Info > Power.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Edward

Hi Edward, thermostat was online all day Saturday and then yesterday, Sunday the 29th, I switched it to Eco and we left the lakehouse. An hour later it was offline and stayed offline until 6:52 this morning where it came online and then went back offline. Voltage reads 3.17. I have the google Nest, not E not Learning...  model GA02081-us 1.4. Battery Status OK. When I checked battery status yesterday before leaving it was GOOD on the device itself.  It is Wired with G Y W RC.  There is no real reason for this to be losing connection like it is.. there were no error messages showing since install...

I have multiple ring cameras around the house none of them lose connectivity... The router is within 15 feet of the Nest thermostat, no other devices have issues connecting or lose connectivity.  Starting to wonder if there is an issue with the device... While writing this, it came back online. so it was offline again for 3 hours...
