Warranty claim follow-up for the next step to replacement?

I just submitted a warranty claim for a broken (no charging) NEST Learning Thermostat and was informed I will be contacted,  I did not get any follow-up email or phone call and I would like to know how soon someone will get back to me for the next step as I don't have any AC working for our main living areas.

Thanks, Joe for your prompt reply.  Here is my case number: 8-4368000034574

I was able to call GoogleNest support center today and was told that my warranty is void because I said I opened the thermostat backplate to see if I can replace the battery.  Is there any venue to get a warranty replacement for the broken unit even with my good intention to fix myself?

Thanks for the follow-up information. I understand that you wanted to know the replacement options for your Nest Thermostat, but disassembling the thermostat could cause failures in its hardware and functionality. You can check out this article for more details.
