Weave and Large Homes

We have a total of 7 Nest Thermostats in our large home in order to zone. The home has Access Points throughout and all thermostats are connected to the same Internet account. The weave technology does not work at any great distance so all thermostats within a few metres of the boiler (vertically). I don't think the Nests use each other as connecting points either as have tried to plug in Nests with a few metres of another to get the weave to reach a different direction. What additional booster product can I buy so that my Nests work in the zones they are set up for (5 Nests are in my laundry room)

Hi Nestinlargehome,

Thanks for posting here, and I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing connectivity issues with your Nest Thermostats in different zones of your home, and the built-in Weave technology is not providing adequate coverage.

Mesh Wi-Fi systems like Nest Wi-Fi or Google Wi-Fi can enhance home network coverage by creating a strong and consistent signal. Range extenders, also known as repeaters or boosters, can be strategically placed around the home to extend Wi-Fi signal. Powerline adapters use electrical wiring to transmit data signals, providing a stable connection. If possible, running Ethernet cables from the router to the Nest Thermostats locations can ensure a direct and reliable connection. It's important to note that Nest Thermostats primarily rely on Wi-Fi for communication and connectivity. While Weave technology allows devices to communicate with each other, it may not be sufficient for extended distances or obstacles. By improving your Wi-Fi coverage using one of the above methods, you should be able to enhance the connectivity and performance of your Nest Thermostats in different zones of your home.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Best,

Zoe
