Does anyone know? I got an email with a vague “we will be reaching out…@ but no idea when. App support is done in 6 weeks.

I moved house and inherited a soon to be discontinued thermostat. I've only just found out that it will be discontinued next month when I opened up the Nest app.
I've not received an email about the discontinuation nor an offer for a discounted newer model.
I'm not even sure whether it will be me or the previous owner that will get the email, I'm hoping it will go to my email address as the device is now registered in my Google account.
