Why can't Google make an update to TURN OFF all annoying features

I'm tired of this, I've searched and nothing works.

I was gone last winter for 2weeks and turned it down so my pipes wouldn't freeze, only to return and find that it was fully heating my home to 22c (71.6f) while I was gone.

I never ever want my temp set to 22c, yet it keeps setting itself to 22c when I'm gone at work for the day.

The price of gas keeps going up, I can't afford to keep dealing with nonsense.

Hello At_wits_end,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To know more about this issue, I’d like to confirm, where are you located? Which Nest Thermostat do you have? Is your Eco mode turning on when your Away feature is enabled? You may disable the auto learning feature by turning it off from the settings.

Give these steps a try:

When you turn off Auto-Schedule, your existing schedule will remain but your thermostat will stop learning from your future adjustments.

Google Home app

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Tap Favorites or Devices .
  3. Select your thermostat.
  4. Tap Settings Settings gear and then Temperature Preferences and then Auto Schedule. Then select the mode you want to use: Auto, Suggestions, or Off.

Nest app

  1. Open the Nest app, then select your Nest thermostat.
  2. Select Settings Nest settings icon and then Auto-Schedule.
  3. Tap the switch to turn it off.

On your thermostat

Choose Settings Nest settings icon and then Nest Sense and then Auto-Schedule and then Off.
