Why does the thermostat schedule have a 60 minute requirement between setpoint changes?

This requirement puts a restriction on customizability of the scheduling function.  I only need the heat on for 30 minutes in the morning but due to the 1 hour minimum, I have to manually turn off the heat after 30 minutes each day and is extremely cumbersome.  The non-smart thermostat that I had before switching didn't have this restriction .... contemplating switching back.

I agree, I would like to turn heat on for 15 min before we wake up and the turn off just to take the chill out of the air. We have hot air heat so the house heats up quickly. No reason to keep heat up for a full hour. Is there a work around for this or can this be changed with an update? Will not recommend nest for this reason

This has not been resolved. App requires 1 hour interval. Would like to program changes in shorter intervals (ie 30 minutes)

Me too, I'd like a shorter interval.

Maybe in the settings you can set the interval to shorter and default is 60 mins.

Or in the settings you can choose to use advanced schedule where you can just enter the time interval that you prefer, including minutes and there's no interval restrictions
