Why if my heat/cool is set at 69-74 does my house temp get to 80 and still doesn’t turn on?

I keep my house year round at 69-74 on the heat/cool option. Ever since it was installed my house will reach 82 degrees (in the summer!!) and my Nest has auto set itself to 72-79 (and still hasn’t turned on!). Never in the history of ever have I set my temp to over 75. Why is it doing this?? It doesn’t kick in. I’ve turned on and turned off Eco, Home Assist, adjusted safety temps, I’ve literally done EVERYTHING I CAN to figure this out. It never stays at 69-74. I’m about to rip the entire thing off the wall and go back to old school manual thermostat. My kids text me saying it’s burning up in the house…what is happening??

Hey there Tae Alvernaz,
I'm sorry for the late response, but I wanted to hop in here to make sure that we helped you. I understand that it can be frustrating having a hot house during the summer due to thermostat issues, but I'm happy to help.

Would you mind letting me know what troubleshooting steps you've taken?

I was able to find a great article that will help you with some troubleshooting steps. If the troubleshooting steps don't work for you, I would suggest contacting a pro to come out to help you with this since it could be the wiring that is causing the issue as well.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.
