WiFi Nest Learning Thermostats Defective

How many people have experienced defective Nest Units with bad Wifi receivers? I bought two Nest learning thermostats for my home. Within the first year, both units had defective Wifi issues.  Went through all the troubleshooting and they simply have bad receivers.

Nest Google Replaced both units and over a year later one of the replacements just had the same issue with a bad Wifi receiver.

Three out of four have been bad units my guess is this is a known issue with these units.

Now, Google/Nest is claiming my replacement is not covered because they go off the original purchase date.  They said someone from the Google store was going to reach out with some options but I have not heard back.

I think after buying multiple units and having the same repetitive problem they would stand behind this issue that I assume is a known defect in these units.

Other than that I really love these things, I just wish they lasted longer than ~1 year.

Hey Ryan,

Sorry to hear about your experience as well as for the delayed response. Rest assured that we'll take this as feedback — we'll learn from it to deliver a better experience in the future. Also, could you provide the case id of your interaction with our support team so I can have it reviewed?

Best,

Melba

This is he only case ID I got.

This was where they offer rebates from energy providers which I might add is not really an offer from Google.

Ryan

Hey RundellRoad,

Sorry but it seems that the system automatically covered the numbers of your case id. If it is not too much to ask, could you provide a screenshot of it instead or place dashes or spaces in between each digit?

Best,

Melba

I got a nest thermostat about a couple of months now and it doesn’t want to connect to the wifi and it’s not charging and I can’t find a number or where to contact the company
