Wifes app no.hot water or heating icons

Hi, my wife's phone displays the nest app but only the home and away symbol she hasn't got the heating or hot water. She can control the heating via Google home but not the hot water. She can't control either from the nest app. I have re installed the app etc. Why has she not got the symbols and why can she not control the hot water. She is shown as a family member on the app

Thanks for posting here in the community. I'm sorry to hear your wife's app might not be showing the hot water and she can't control directly the app. I'm happy to help!

 

To better understand the situation, I'd like to ask a few questions:

 

  • Are you the home owner?
  • Did you already migrate to Google?
  • What is the model of your wife's mobile device?

In the meantime, let's check a few things:

 

  • App Refresh: Uninstall and reinstall both the Google Home and Nest apps. This can often resolve minor glitches.
  • App Permissions: Ensure that both apps have all necessary permissions on your wife's phone, including location access and device control. Check the app settings for these permissions.
  • Account Refresh: Temporarily remove your wife from the Nest account, then re-invite her. Refer to this article: Learn about Family Accounts and how to share access to your Nest home.
