I know to ignore the jumper wire but this system has me a little confused with what to do with the wire that is currently on W/E and W2. I have a heat pump system one of these is for the emergency heating element but I am unsure what I should do with the brown wire going into W2

I have the exact same setup as Garrett16, and the same question. Trying to convert to Nest Learning Thermostat. Any help on this topic could kill 2 birds with 1 stone! Thanks so much.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community forum. I'd be happy to shed some light on your situation here. Our Nest Thermostat has an E terminal for emergency heating. We’ll be able to give you guys a wiring diagram for your setup if you could also send us a photo of your HVAC control board wiring.
If the other end of the wire is connected to the E terminal on your HVAC, you can connect it to the E terminal of the Nest Thermostat and set it up as emergency heating during the setup stage.
Keep us posted.
Best,
Renz
