I want to install Nest thermostats to allow internet access. I have three separate A/C units each with a thermostat currently wired: Rc Y G and a jumper Rc to Rh. These 3 thermostats are labeled for heat, off, cooling, fan on and fan auto. I then have 5 separate mercury temperature thermostats that control the hot water radiant floor heat with a Red and a White wire with 26.7 volts AC. Two of these heat control thermostats are adjacent to the three main thermostats and 3 are remote. So one of the main switching thermostats has no adjacent heat temperature control.
So I anticipate I would need 3 Nest learning thermostats. Two of these I think could incorporate the heat (currently mercury thermostat) temperature control with the third unit having a Nest Power Connector, if this is possible. An alternative would be to leave the 5 mercury switches and install 3 Nest Power Connectors for the 3 Nest learning thermostats. What would be the wiring connections? I anticipate I could leave the 3 stand alone remote heat temperature mercury thermostats. It would be nice to replace them as well, with a low level Nest unit, but adds to the cost.
