Wiring configuration from old thermostat with 1,2,C,R wires to new Nest Learning Thermostat

I am trying to wire our new nest learning thermostat, but have only 4 wires that are connected and colored as follows: White into (1), Green into (2), Blue into (C), and Red into (R). The C and R wires are easy to figure where they go, but into which locations do the (1) and (2) plugged wires go? There is not a (1) or (2) plug in the new nest learning thermostat configuration.  I currently have an Emerson Climate Technologies thermostat that controls furnace and A/C. I have followed the setup a few times with varied wired configurations with the 1 and 2 plugs and can get the new thermostat to light up and try to run the startup system check, but the heat and fan error out and do not start up. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Sorry DnA4813, still no response. I suppose I will wait on hold to talk with someone hopefully since this forum doesn't seem to be active anymore.

Hey folks,

Thanks for visiting the Google Nest Community.

Since this thread hasn't had activity in a while, we're going to close it to keep content fresh. The wire labeled 1 and 2 indicates that the system is not compatible with the Nest Thermostat. Check out this link to know more details.

If you have additional questions, feel free to submit another post and provide as many details as possible so that others can lend a hand.

Hope this helps!

Kind regards,

Ryan
