My nest gen 3 stopped turning on the outside unit. It worked fine for a week the stopped turning on the outside unit. Did a lot of troubleshooting eventually changed out the thermostat with an Eccobee, that too work one week then stopped again. I have to "hotwire" the wires for it to work. HELP!! I'm about ready to beat this thing with a sledge hammer!!

Post a picture of the original thermostat's wiring and one of how you wired the Nest

Problem is not fixed. I don't think it's a wiring issue though. Our nest just stopped working one day got a new one hooked up the same as b4 stopped working a wk later. Ac tech told me the other day that it may be the unit itself...so I dunno

Hey HotinTX,

I understand where you're coming from. However, having two thermostats fail on the same system after working for quite some time is uncommon. It is best to start checking on the wires or have a local HVAC technician check on your HVAC system to cover all the bases.
