Worst/Useless Customer Service

I reached out to the Nest Customer Service due to a defective Nest Thermostat that wouldn't keep a charge. I waited on hold for thirty minutes until I finally got connected with a rep. I explained that I called a heater/cooler specialist and they were able to isolate the problem to the Nest Thermostat being defective. I wanted to see what options are since I didn't expect a three hundred dollar thermostat to be out of commission after 3-4 years of use. All that the customer rep said was that it's out of warranty and there is nothing they can do. I asked if there is a battery repair program as I'm happy to pay for the repair rather than buy a whole new equipment. He just kept repeating it was out of warranty and said a supervisor will call me. Supervisor calls me after 2 hours and says the exact same thing. The whole thought process behind implementing Nest equipment at my house (thermostat, camera, etc.) was that I thought the customer service and warranty would be far better than its competitors. It's the complete opposite. I'm looking to get rid of the outdoor cameras after this experience because paying for Nest subscription for useless customer service is a dumb decision. I really expected a lot better solution than "your equipment is out of warranty so go buy another smart thermostat for three hundred dollars"  and there is absolutely no process in place for a repair. Unbelievable.
