I have a ptac unit with a millwork cover. I placed the Nest inside this millwork and running the system based on the separate sensor. Since the nest itself is close to the heat all the time, always getting the error message that system is running a lot - where it actually is running normal. Nest reaches temps of 87 while the sensor is 70. Is there a way to stop this error message?

Hi aifny,
The reason why you're getting this alert is because the thermostat is next to a heating source and your Nest Thermostat has an internal sensor. Please take it a little away from the unit and that should remove the message.

Axel.

Yes, but that's not a possibility. Is there anyway of disabling this error message? It already shouldn't be giving an error as we are running it through the temperature sensor...so it shouldn't take into account what the thermostat temperature is.

Hi aifny,
Sure, I completely understand the situation. Unfortunately, there is not a way to turn off a specific notification. You can turn off the Nest App notifications but you won't get any.

Axel.
