boiler not firing up

Have a two year old Nest Learning Thermostat which has been working fine up to a couple of weeks ago. Now sometimes boiler not firing up when scheduled to do so - sometimes it works, sometimes not. The thermostat control displays the orange scheduled temp but boiler not always responding. The boiler does fire up when operated manually by pressing the big HeatLink button, but its not responding (it does sometimes) from the schedule or app. I've refreshed and restored back to factory settings but no joy. It's got a few days left on its two-year warranty! Any suggestions?

I have exactly the same problem.

Even changed heat link and thermostat for a used one, but intermittent problem still persists.

However I find that if I reboot whole system at the boiler /nest power isolator. It then responds to the schedule, for a day or so.

Boiler system water pressure correct.

Any ideas?

Further to my last reply. My problem also commenced about 2 weeks ago, so I am suspecting a software update issue. The used link and thermo, are 2 years old and have not been used for about 1 year. As soon as I installed it, I checked for updates and of course it found and loaded the latest (silly man) I guess this is an issue to escalate to Google to investigate

Hi there @swiftnest! I'm really sorry to hear that. This might be happening because of various reasons and in situations like this we perform a click test to determine if the issue is related to your thermostat or to another part of your heating system. That being said, please go near your Heat Link and activate the boost for hot water from the app and let me know if you hear a click. You should hear a click when you boost the hot water and another click when you stop boosting it. Just to make sure that the relay is working properly, please try that 5 or 6 times and let me know if you hear a click at every command. Also could you please tell me if you have a separate valve for the heating and hot water, or you have just one handling both?

Hi there, just checking in. Have you seen the last message that my colleague sent?

Hi Paul_R. Yes, saw the message and replied. Since then I've had the HeatLink replaced and a useful call with the GooglenNest support team (UK 0808 1692307) to go through the system set-up, click tests etc. It did solve the problem for a few days but it's back now - the boiler not responding to instructions from the schedule, or app, or thermostat to heat the radiators (the instructions to heat the water seem ok). The boiler does fire up when the manual button is pressed on the HeatLink - this heats the rads and the hot water. So I'll be back on to the GoogleNest helpline later today.
