can't setup wifi on brand new google nest thermostat with google home app
INstalled Google Nest Thermostat and it can do manual controls of HVAC, but it says "no WIFI"
So tried to setup with Google home app which is able to connect or pair to the google nest thermostat. Went through the steps to setup the WIFI and after saying "Finishing setup", the Google home app says:
"There was a problem communicating with Google
Try again"
with a button that says "Exit Setup"
used the google chat to debug this issue and try a few things (Case ID is 7-9863000039590). The person eventually talked to manager and said it was a Google issue and they would get back to me. It have been about 3 weeks and I don't expect much help from Google support.
I am aware that Google has recently been criticized for its support issues for all their smart home products.
