connected nest thermostat not linking to google home app

Our Nest thermostat has been working fine. My husband accidently deleted it from his Google Home app. Now we are unable to get it to reconnect again. We are following the instructions but it will not connect.

The Nest thermostat is still connected to the wifi and is working on it's own, just not able to control it from our phones/Google Home app.

What instructions are you following? I had same issue and had to reset the devices to make it work again.

Hey folks,

Nitink, thanks for answering and for sharing what you've done to resolve your similar concern.

DebbieV, I want to ensure that you'll be able to control your Nest thermostat with your Google Home or Nest app again. Have you had the chance to try resetting it then setting it up again like Nitink did?

Best,

Melba

Hey DebbieV,

Checking back in — how's your thermostat now?

I've tried to reply twice through email but keeps bouncing back.

So in the end my husband had to "reset" the thermostat and it was on our Google Home app again. Use reset, not restart.

Hey there,

I'm glad to hear that your response went through this time and I appreciate that you've taken the time to keep us in the loop of what your husband did to have it back up and working as it should.

Feel free to let us know if you have more questions.

Cheers,

Melba
