current temperature in the thermostat is wrong by 10degrees

The current temperature in the thermostat is wrong by 11 degrees (too high) so, the heat won't come on because it thinks its 80 degrees when its 69 degrees. I can see there are many posts on this topic, but it says replies are disabled for this topic. I have reset the thermostat multiple times but the issue returns. Please note, I do not have the remote temp sensor, but I have one nest 3 downstairs (which doesn't have the problem) and a relatively new nest 3 upstairs that does have the problem,

I am about to return it but would like to try a solution(s) from the forum first.

Hi donsdndranch,

Thank you for reaching out. I understand that your Google Nest thermostat is showing the incorrect temperature. I know this can be frustrating, but please don't worry. I'm here to help you.

To better understand your situation, please answer the following questions:

  • What type of Nest thermostat do you have?
  • When was the thermostat installed?
  • Where is your thermostat installed? (in a room and on a wall or stand)
  • Do you have other active Nest thermostats? If yes, do they show the same issue?
  • When did the issue start?
  • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?   Have there been any recent changes to your HVAC system?
  • Have there been any recent power outages or power issues?

I look forward to your response.

Regards,

Manuel
