fan adjustment on 3rd gen

I have a 3rd gen learning thermostat, and a hybrid heat pump system. As i understand it, this thermostat should be compatible with variable speed fans, but I have been unable to figure out how to adjust the fan setting, and it seems to run only on high. Any suggestions?

Hi honorah,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community forum. We'd be happy to take a look into this for you. Variable-speed fans are compatible with Nest thermostats, but the fans will only operate at a single speed. For fan settings, you can follow the steps below:

Press your thermostat ring to open the Quick View menu.

  1. Select Settings.
  2. Select Fan.
  3. Choose system fan speed.
  4. Select the fan speed you'd like to use when your system is heating or cooling your home. Depending on your system, you may see Low, Medium, High, or Auto if you have a multi-speed fan.

In addition to this, we can further check your system and its compatibility if you could send us a photo of your current wiring and the make and model of your hybrid heat pump so that we can explore more options for you.

Let me know if that helps.

Best,

Renz.
