Hi Dxztina,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) won't turn off the fans and cooling even when the temperature is reached. I appreciate all the efforts you've made to resolve this issue. I'm here to help!

To better assist you with accurate information, I’d like to ask a few questions:

  • What is the model of your Nest thermostat? Here’s a helpful article about how to identify your thermostat model.
  • What type of HVAC system do you have?
  • What other strange symptoms have you experienced since the problem started?
  • Are there any error messages?
  • When was the last maintenance and cleaning service performed on your HVAC system?
  • Have there been any recent changes or upgrades to your HVAC system?
  • Have you noticed whether the same behavior occurs when the thermostat is in heating mode?

In the meantime, I’d suggest the following steps:

  • Check the Energy History to see if some features are causing the unusual thermostat activation.
  • Ensure that the wires are fully inserted into the terminal and that the connector buttons are securely pushed down. Important: Before touching any wires, turn off the power to your HVAC system at the breaker box. For reference, you can check out this article: Troubleshoot strange heating or cooling behavior.

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Melany
