I have ac plus gas heat, I have B/C wire on old thermostat, do I enter it as B or C? I wired to to Nest C and the AC is working but I am concerned that Nest tells me I have a Heat Pump which is incorrect. It is only AC cooling.

Hey Fuzzy what do you mean when you say nest is telling me heat pump . you can change the info later just for the heat section choose forced air and it will work fine.

Thanks I actually figured this out but did not know how to retract my question. Thanks for your effort!

I have solved trouble with my new programmable Nest thermostat which included occasional power Error codes. After several attempts to reprogram, I finally discovered that I had TWO breakers in my electrical panel - 1 for the AC and another for the Air Handler.
I uninstalled and reset the thermostat, this time I turned off BOTH breakers and reinstalled the thermostat from scratch. NO more error codes and everything works well since.
Hoping this saves someone else a few hours of frustration.
